The Increase in Livery Quarterage

In 1664, Quarterage started at 6d per quarterly meeting, an annual total of 2/-. By 16th October 1912, it was decided that the Quarterage could still not be increased. On 17th November 1926, Quarterage was first increased from 6d to 2/6d, an annual total of 10/-. On 12th December 1930, Quarterage was increased from 2/6d to 5/-, an annual total of £1.00.

On 22nd June 1934, Quarterage was increased from 5/- to 7/6d, an annual total of £1.10/- as from Michaelmas 1935. On 24th March 1965, Quarterage was increased from Michaelmas to an annual total of £4.00. Since then Quarterage has, in effect, become an annual subscription. At September 1969, it became £8.

At September 1975 it became £20, and by Sept.1979 it had reached £25. September 1981 saw £35, September 1983 saw £50, and September 1985 reached £80. Sept.1988 £100, Sept.1990 £150, Sept.2000 £200, Sept.2005 £220 with a £20 discount for paying by Direct Debit, Sept.2008 £250 with a £20 discount, Sept.2011 £300, Sept 2012 £315, Sept 2013 £330, and Sept 2015 £350.
